Shawna brings her strong passion for health and fitness to the STRIDE community, striving to include ALL members, from first-time runners to elite athletes. She has been learning and living all things wellness for over 20 years. While obtaining degrees in both Exercise Science and Health Education, Shawna taught group exercise classes and trained clients of all ages and fitness levels. After shifting her focus to educating high school students in health and kinetic wellness, she trained hard and ran her first half-marathon in 2011. Since then, she's run multiple 5, 10 and 15K races and truly enjoys the training process. Outside of her personal quest for health and wellness, Shawna is always on the move with her 5 children and their family dog, who is arguably the most demanding family member. She is always on the quest for balance and a sense of calm which she achieves through regular exercise, helping others reach their fitness goals, and allowing herself time to focus on her. Shawna's goals as a STRIDE coach are to empower members to reach their personal fitness goals and to help them realize that their mental-emotional well-being is just as important as their physical fitness. She is so excited to coach her STRIDE family to help them reach their full potential, on and off the tread!
