Joe

Joe avoided running until 2016 because his 6th grade gym teacher shamed him by telling him “You run like a girl.” While cheering on his husband and a wide swath of runners at the 2016 Chicago Marathon, Joe committed that he would start running & would train for the 2017 Chicago Marathon. And at 49 years old, Joe did what he had set out to do. He completed the 2017 Chicago Marathon. Since 2017, Joe has completed 8 marathons + a dozen half marathons! When not running, Joe loves to cook, bake, travel, and volunteer at his daughters’ school. Joe joined the STRIDE team because he knew how rewarding it would be to encourage people to reach their goals -- His mission as a STRIDE Coach is to help the STRIDE community to think outside their “norm” of what they think they can do-- and just go for it!
